AIS Presents Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest invites filmmakers, student filmmakers and amateurs to submit their films.

Major Cineplex encourages new filmmaking and Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest is supported by AIS, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ford and Major Cineplex.

To enter Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest the entry requirements are simple.  All  films must be 9 minutes or less from opening to closing credits.  All films must have a HEART appear in the film (2011 – 9Signature Item <9SI> was the number “9”, the 2012 signature item <9SI>  is “Heart”).   All films must have a heart used in some way.  And films must make their premiere at Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest.

A committee will review submissions and choose semi-finalist films.  Then 9 Finalist Films will be selected and a Gala VIP Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest Finalist Dinner will held on 13 June, at the Vie Hotel, honoring their selection.  These outstanding films will be recognized and be included in the Amazing Thailand 9FilmFest Contest to be held on 17 June at Paragon Cineplex.  All films will have the opportunity to win a share of over 1 million baht in cash and prizes.  Including 600,000 baht first prize.

This year’s festival is proud to have a distinguished panel of judges including Academy Award winner George Miller and Cannes Palme d’Or winner Apichartpong Weerasethakul, who will decide which film will win the Amazing Thailand Best Film award of 600,000 baht.

Submissions are requested as early entries before 23 April 2012 (400 baht entry fee) and regular entry fee (450 baht) before 7 May 2012.  Your entry fee will be donated 20% towards Baan Gerda HIV foundation.
