Keen to progress his films and film industry of Thailand, he shot in colour and expanded the use of songs in the narrative. Based on a play by well-known author Suwat Woradilok, the story had been used in a TV drama before Pestonji decided to use it as the basis for his film. The plot of Dark Heaven is nothing out of the ordinary, but the real heart of the film is its songs.
